Why do garments of acetate fabrics feel comfortable to wear?
Unlike synthetic fibers, acetate fiber feels soft against the skin, its amorphous open-pore structure allows moisture to be transported away from the body, making the wearer feel cooler and more comfortable. Also, fabrics of acetate fiber do not conduct electricity, so there's no annoying static cling. Actual wear testing of coats containing acetate linings have shown acetate linings to be significantly more comfortable than coats with polyester linings.
One of the reasons that better men's and women's apparel manufacturers choose acetate linings is that they "breathe" and move moisture away from the wearer. This offers cooler comfort. Other pluses are their beautiful colors, soft hand and compatible drape without static cling.
